Free domain appraisal

A domain is worth what a buyer will pay, so any appraisal is an estimate. Enter a domain below for a free estimate from a valuation model trained on millions of past domain sales: a quick-sale figure, an asking price and a best case, with a confidence level and a plain answer to whether it's worth renewing.

What the three figures mean

A single number would pretend to a precision no appraisal has. Each figure is a price with the model's chance of a sale at it:

Quick sale
1 in 2
The typical outcome: about a 50% chance of selling for at least this. Roughly what a fast sale, such as an auction, might bring.
Asking
1 in 40
An optimistic asking price: about a 1-in-40 chance. A sensible list price when you can wait for the right buyer.
Best case
1 in 133
About a 1-in-133 chance: what the right end buyer, found by a broker, might pay.

Is it worth renewing?

Every renewal is new money. The appraisal compares the estimated asking price with a year's renewal for the extension at a low-cost registrar: well above it, the name earns its keep; below it, it may not.

We never tell you to drop a name on a model estimate alone, because estimates are often far off. Below the renewal, the answer is to check the name's sales history and your plans for it first.

How the estimate works

  1. 01

A model trained on millions of past domain sales reads the name, its words and its extension.

  2. 02

It predicts the chance of a sale at each price from $25 up, and reads the three figures off that curve.

  3. 03

Confidence is lower outside .com, .net and .org, where there is less sales history.

  4. 04

Only the name you type is sent. Estimates are cached for 30 days, so a name returns the same figures.

Frequently asked questions

How much is my domain worth?

A domain is worth what a buyer will pay, so the honest answer is a range. Enter it in the appraisal on this page to get a quick-sale figure, an asking price and a best case from a model trained on past domain sales. Most names are worth little on resale; a few are worth a lot.

How are domain names valued?

By comparison with names that have sold. Shorter names, common words, a .com extension and commercial meaning tend to sell for more. Automated appraisals learn those patterns from historical sales; human brokers add comparable sales, buyer demand and the name's history.

How accurate are free domain appraisals?

Treat them as a rough second opinion. Independent tests of automated appraisal tools in 2026 found estimates often about 2× off and sometimes 20×, especially for newer extensions such as .io and .ai. That is why this tool shows a range and a confidence level, not one number.

Is my domain worth renewing?

Compare what it could sell for with what it costs to keep. If even a realistic asking price is below a year's renewal, it may not be worth keeping, but check its sales history and your own plans first, because model estimates are often far off. The appraisal on this page compares the estimate with a year's renewal at a low-cost registrar.

Why does the estimate say less than $25?

The model's lowest price step is $25. Less than $25 means it found little resale demand for names like this one, not that the name is worthless to you. A name can be valuable to a business that wants it even when resale demand is low.

Is the domain appraisal free?

Yes. It's free and needs no account; only the domain name you type is sent to be valued. To value a whole portfolio and track renewals, paste your list into the free dashboard.
